Quote of the Day

“People are not willing to modify their lifestyle in order to live on what they earn — that is the real problem.”

  1. I am gonna just take a guess and say that this is aimed @ me 🙂 and I have some great news so you can no longer say I don’t head (is that the right word) your advice…

I sold my Discovery and my step mom bought me a 2008 Mazda 3. I miss my old car but passing up this deal would be the dumbest thing I have ever done. I will let the rents believe it was their doing but really in truly you planted the seed. They way she worked it was that we traded in my car for this one and then she paid enough of a down payment that would enable me to have a significantly lower monthly payment. So techncally she didnt buy the car but in a way she did because of the size of a down payment (that paid off what was still owed on the old car and to give me a low interest rate w/ low payments) 4.9% Now it is up to me to keep working and while this is a step backwards in the snip sniping I think it was the best decision (aka my only one) to really be able to improve my $ situation and be able to snip snip later on and with some semblance of dignity…

  2. Hah! It wasn’t aimed at you — it’s aimed at people in general, really. We didn’t get in a housing and credit crisis without LOTS and LOTS of people having this problem.

I’m glad to hear your car situation is squared away. A used car would save you even more money, but hey — baby steps. You’re on your way!

  3. I tried for a used car but the only way to get me from under the old loan was to get a new car. I also get free engines for life, free oil changes for 3 year, free replacement keys for 5years, and we bought a coating that would make it easy to get even spray paint off a car…

and I get to go zoom zoom
