Joe has a cold, which was a great excuse for both of us to stay home. He was a hellion for a couple of hours, but most of the day was spent on the couch.

The Arc South of the James had a meeting tonight with three members of the Virginia General Assembly. Delegates Kirk Cox, Rosalyn Dance and Riley Ingram answered questions and got some great input in advance of the next session starting in a couple of months. Plenty of photos here.

Joe had some things to say, but mostly he just worked the room.

We made the pilgrimage to Flora Hill Park for Colonial Heights’ annual Halloween party. This year Joe was a triceratops.

Lia was recently named one of the Top 40 Under 40 in the greater Richmond area by local newspaper Style Weekly.

Congratulations Lia, for being an above-average citizen and for having the respect and friendship of the other cool citizens who nominated you. Bravo!

Joe has the best school. Terrific teachers, terrific classmates, terrific everything. The whole school knows him – one class all high-fived him as they passed by, single file, in the hall.

It’s great to know our boy is in such good hands.

Joe played MC at Flora Hill Park tonight as Colonial Heights participated in the national Celebrate Safe Communities event.

Lots of people turned out. There was a DJ, lots of cookies and cider, all with a new playground as backdrop.

Very cool event, congratulations and thanks to all the people that volunteer to put these things on.

It’s a great time of year here, with festivals every weekend. We go for the food, Joe goes to dance and pick up chicks.
